With many years of experience in some of the top rated spas in South Africa, The Corporate & Contact Centre Therapy Company’s owner Susan Gausi brings her extensive massage therapy experience to the Johannesburg and Sandton based corporate and call centre environment, where staff spend many hours a day … and night … at their desks in confined working spaces, with little physical movement. It is in this market niche that the company has designed a specialty treatment that brings relief and relaxation and de-stress to the staff who man these desks day in and day out

CONTACT CENTRES

WHY THERAPY FOR THE CONTACT CENTRE OPERATOR?

The Contact Centre Job

Call centre jobs are notorious worldwide for their high levels of turnover, absenteeism, employee burnout, and emotional exhaustion. Agents are at constant risk of angry outbursts from customers, sexual harassment and outright abuse

The Physical Effects

Call center stress can cause tension headaches. Stress has been proven to be a trigger for tension-headaches and migraines. The extended, prolonged stress that occurs with burnout may cause call center employees who don’t normally experience headaches to begin experiencing them. This, combined with poor posture and lack of physical movement, all combine to dramatically reduce the efficiency and overall productivity of the Contact Centre operator.

THE TREATMENT

  • Areas treated: Neck & Shoulders. The main purpose of back, neck and shoulder massage is to eliminate the tension and the spasms from the stationary muscles

This is achieved by focussing on the sternocleidomastoid, scalenes and upper trapezius areas to maximise the relief of tension, reduce headaches, and increase relaxation and focus and improve blood circulation

  • Duration: 15 minutes
  • Location: On premise – either at the staff members’ seat or in the company’s designated area
  • The Benefits: Dramatically improved circulation as well as general relaxation to ensure fewer headaches and other physical ailments resulting from the sedentary nature of the job. Included with the treatment is the education of the team member on the relevant stretching exercises to undertake during the working day
